ITANAGAR, Aug 17: While alleging violation of DPR and NIT in the PMGSY road from BRTF road to Ruku village under Monigong circle in West Siang district, the Shajee Youth Club (SYC), Monigong has lodged a complaint with the EAC, Monigong, against one M/S Tenzin Enterprises, the project executing agency.
The Youth Club, in its complaint letter to the EAC, claimed that the work executing agency completely violated the DPR and NIT by not including Korle village in the project thereby depriving the locals of area. It claimed that the DPR was prepared after due consideration of the population as well as villages that fall within the area. It demanded the EAC to initiate action against the executing agency and stop the release of payment until and unless the discrepancies are rectified.

AVP’s circle level games and sports competitions
ITANAGAR, Aug 17: Arunachal Vikas Parishad (AVP) conducted its circle level sports competition at Pakke Kessang and Rilloh recently.
86 athletes both boys and girls took part in the sports competition at Pakke Kessang and 42 at Rilloh conducted on August 12 and 13 respectively.
AVP is planning to conduct such sports competition in more than 100 circles covering 10,000 youths this year before the district and state level competitions to be held in between September and November. ITANAGAR, Aug 17: Advent of monsoon brought with it bad roads. Rain hasn’t stopped yet but the contractors, as always, are having a field day with their substandard construction works yet again. Construction work of concrete pavements being carried out at Bank Tinali area here is one such example.
“With the kind of work they are doing, it will be damaged in no time,” shared a trekker driver.
When contacted by this daily, Chief Engineer, Highway, Bora Ete accepted the fact that the quality of work is bad and that his department has been bearing the brunt for the bad quality.
“This work quality is because of the unregistered contractors that are on the job. They are not equipped properly as they are not registered,” he said. “We have to have the best of materials and contractors while working on highways,” Ete added.
AAPSU questions Muivah statement on integration
ITANAGAR, Aug 17: All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) has questioned the statement made by Th. Muivah, the general secretary of NSCN (IM), during the celebration of 69th Independence Naga Day about the integration of Naga inhabited areas and asked him to clarify the parameters and meaning of integration.
While welcoming the peace accord signed between the NSCN (IM) and the Government of India, the students union said that demand of sovereignty and greater Nagalim may be there but not at the cause of the state of Arunachal Pradesh.

Ering sanctions fund for Pasighat market fire victims
PASIGHAT, Aug 17: Arunachal East Lok Sabha Member Ninong Ering has visited fire ravaged Pasighat market on August 14 last and sanctioned an amount Rs. 10 lakhs from his MPLAD in addition to Rs.1 lakh from his salary as a special package for the fire victims. He was accompanied by DC Nidhi Srivastava, DIG LH Shanliana, PD (DRDA) Sibo Passing and host of officers during his visit. A massive fire had gutted more than 37 shops on Aug 10 last.
While assuring all possible help to the fire victims, the MP has expressed concern over repeated fire mishaps reported from various parts of the state. He urged the administration to create awareness on protective measures to ensure that such incidents do not occur in future.

Union Govt. is playing with fire
The secrecy around peace agreement signed between NSCN (IM) and central government
is increasing the tension in the North East region. On 3rd of this month Centre and
Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak-
Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Manipur where the sizeable Naga population lives have alleged that centre did not take them into confidence while signing the agreement. NSCN (IM) has been demanding integration of Naga inhabited areas of the above three states into part of their greater Nagalim. The government as well as people of three states strongly opposes such demand. Though the days have passed but still the content of agreement is not being made public by the union government. This is causing discomfort to the people of three states. Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi during his Independence Day speech once again asserted that details of the agreement should be placed in the public domain. The latest statement of NSCN (IM) General Secretary T. Muivah issued on last Friday stating that there can be "no solution whatsoever" without fulfilling the two core issues of "sovereignty" and "integration" of Naga inhabited areas has added more uncertainty. His statement has not gone down well and many NGOs of Arunachal has expressed reservation about it. Union government is playing with the fire by continuing to keep the details of agreement secret. Doing so, not only they are creating tense atmosphere but also destabilizing the region.

A different ratio
Dear Editor,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I would like to highlight some of the annoying facts with regard to recruitment process of UDC conducted by Department of information and public Relation. The recruitment advertisement was published in local daily in May 2012 and written exam conducted only after 3 years i.e. 31 May. My son got qualified in written exam and I was surprised to find just for 2 posts, the total number of candidate called for viva voice is 10 in numbers I.e. 1:5 ratio against 1:3 ratio according to government norm. Now my question is why concerned department hasn't maintained 1:3 ratio? Will interview be conducted fairly? Is there any nepotism or favouritism because all of a sudden the ratio is violated?
I request concerned authority to look into the matter and conduct free and fair interview.

Through your esteemed daily, I would like to express my grievances regarding the advertisement that was published in Arunachal Times last year by Department of Industries, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh.
The advertisement was carried on 18/10/14 of AT, with the DIPR/ARN/2181/2014 & order
no. IND/ESTT/291/2012(pt-
Among the various posts I am eligible and applied for the Extension Officer (Ind). I am yet to get any intimation from the said department yet.
My question is that if department were not supposed to conduct the interview, why did they asked us to fill it up?
My earnest request to the concerned authority is please don't publish advertisements if the recruitment is not to be done.

Make it 24X7
Dear Editor,
Arunachal Times is very reader friendly as it shares so many other information besides daily news. I have personally been associated with your esteemed newspaper; prefer reading your paper each day.
So when your publication does not hit the stands on certain official holiday/occasion, it is a long day for me.
In this regard, I would like to request you to make the esteemed The Arunachal Times to 24×7 arunachaltimes, so that not a single day is missed in a week on any happening in the state.
I would also like to request you to keep at least one independent press personnel in each district for wide coverage so that there could also be substantial increase/addition of news page. Hopefully, this esteemed publication covers every bit of information from each district of the state irrespective of big or small. And pictorial messages are more attractive and informative even for those who cannot read.
